This family‑run homestay sits in a quiet residential area near central Kalpetta, and the house itself is built in traditional Keralan style with a cooling interior courtyard that feels very clean and comfortable. The family and caretaker Dill were all welcoming, friendly and helpful, and we were so pleased that we returned for a second visit.

We enjoyed a fabulous stay at Nivaasana, where the house is truly beautiful, tastefully decorated, and located in a residential area that’s easily walkable to the main commercial area. With only three rooms, the place stays very calm. Dillu the caretaker took excellent care of us, and breakfast was delightful each day. Rachana gave useful restaurant and local place suggestions, and arranged a driver—Shamier from Memories Tours—who gave us the very best experience of Wayanad. Thanks to the Nivaasana team for the wonderful stay!

Dill, the person who handled all business, communications, and cooking, was exceptional; he was the host and helped me a lot while I was sick for 24 hours—such a sweet young man! I never met the owner, but Dill took care of everything and was a gem. The only downsides were the abundance of signage about all the rules, the pillows being big and hard, dirt and grime around electrical buttons, and the lack of toilet paper.
