The hostel is cozy and well‑situated, and I was greeted by a truly lovely volunteer 🙏. The first two nights were quiet, but on Saturday evening there was a party in the hostel and common areas, so if you want peace, avoid the weekend.

We’re a couple who could have stayed in a private apartment in Salvador, but picking Odara Hostel was a great decision. The hostel sits in a gorgeous old house, close to the beach, and the rooms are comfortable. What really stands out is the vibe: people are incredibly friendly, the lounge is a great spot to chat, play music, and meet others. We made new friends and felt part of the community. I also had some online work to do, and Odara functioned well as a coworking space, which was a huge plus. The location is fantastic—just a short walk to the beach and evening restaurants, perfect for soaking up Salvador’s relaxed beach atmosphere. If I had to choose again between a private apartment and a hostel, I’d pick Odara without hesitation. The people, shared spaces, location, and overall atmosphere truly enriched our Salvador experience.

The house was super cozy and cool, yet the bathroom had a broken lock and we had to lean a chair so people could see that someone was inside – terrible.
