The area was super quiet, and the host helped everything run smoothly; we woke up early to catch a fantastic sunrise, and the breakfast was excellent with all the options, plus the orange juice was the best I've ever had at a hotel.

The Garni‑Hotel Alto da Lua is in an exceptional spot, alone on a mountain near Bensafrim. From the rooms (big, clean, with bathrooms) and the large pool you get a great view over the Algarve and the coastal towns. The very quiet, isolated location (next town >10 km away) means there’s no restaurant nearby. The breakfast included in the price was good, and the hotelier was very kind. The Alto da Lua has some renovation lag, but that didn’t bother us much because it was still very clean. Unfortunately, during our short one‑day stay there was no hot water for showers.

The innkeeper and his breakfast helper were very nice, and the breakfast was lovingly prepared. The sheets smelled a little musty. The room was simple but clean. The place was very remote; you can’t get there without a taxi.
