It is a very beautiful, modern yet traditional Japanese house. It is located fantastically! The host is very helpful, communicative, and responsive to needs. He assists in finding solutions and gives good advice for outings. It is very pleasant to be a guest in the house.

The renovated old house was a lovely space with a great sense of style, and the owner’s kind personality was wonderful. Also, being right behind the Flower Cave made the location perfect!

People often forget there are insanely beautiful and peaceful places outside Japan’s big cities. Kumano, where Usagi is located, had the friendliest people and amazing nature. Yossi the owner was incredibly friendly and just a good human being that we wish nothing but the best. I am very happy to have made Japanese friends during our trip, like Yossi. 🙏

We spent our last vacation days in Japan at Guesthouse Usagi and couldn’t have wished for a better ending. Usagi is a traditionally Japanese house lovingly renovated. We stayed in a nice, spacious room overlooking the garden. What made our stay especially special was Yossy. He is an amazing host, knows the area extremely well, and shares that knowledge gladly. The location is beautiful, right next to a historic memorial and a few minutes’ walk from Shichiri Mihama, the impressive long coastline along the Pacific Ocean. We took great walks there. Yossy also took us on a trip to the ancient rice terraces of Maruyama Senmaida and the impressive Dorokyo Gorge. The excursion was well prepared: we even received information about the history of both areas beforehand. What we also liked a lot was the personal contact. Yossy spontaneously organized a drink with us and a Japanese guest. We learned more about daily life in Japan and had great conversations. That’s exactly what made staying at a guesthouse special for us. The local tips were excellent. On Yossy’s recommendation we went to restaurant AO in Kumano. We found it so good that we went back the next evening.

The owner's service, the immaculate room, and the email I received after returning were all superb; I have nothing to complain about.
