Château de Saint-Genix

“Schön von der Lage, aber verbesserungswürdig vom Zusatnd.”

Breakfast was good, with good cheese in addition to the French breakfast, and one day there was fruit salad. The location is very nice and the view to the distance is good. The bathroom was very crudely built, and the rain shower was heavily limescale‑covered and fell down several times. At the end of the meadow behind the castle, excavation from a construction site was delivered. The railing on the staircase to the terrace was very wobbly. Some parts of the hotel seemed to still be under construction. The restaurant was closed one day and nobody informed us.

The atmosphere was very nice. The silence and the old building, which was very stylishly renovated, contributed to it. I injured myself on the towel rack for the bath towels on the upper arm. It’s not very practical that they installed it on the door.

I booked a wedding at the venue, but nobody told me it was already booked. The private restaurant was also reserved, and I was disappointed that I never received any notice.

The owner’s warm welcome, the stunning setting, the restaurant, and breakfast were all fantastic. However, some facilities could use improvement, like the bedside lamps that didn’t work well and the bathroom light that had a timer that was unnecessary.
