Central Hotel Cheltenham by Roomsbooked

It’s a nice and cozy pension that’s tidy and clean, though there’s a dusty smell, probably from the carpet. Unfortunately, the bed was a huge disappointment: it was far too small for two people, so our feet even overhung the edge; the pillows were clearly worn and very thin. The worst part was the mattress, which lay completely crooked and had a deep hole, causing us to roll toward each other constantly. The whole bed creaked and moved with every turn. It was a heavy hassle and ruined our sleep. It’s a pity because otherwise the pension is nice and clean; a good bed would have made the stay much more enjoyable.

“So much needs to be done to make this a real hotel”

The bed was comfortable, and the room had a working TV and a kettle for coffee or tea. The toilet and washing facilities functioned properly, so at a basic level it met expectations. However, the room felt more like a guest room in someone’s house than a typical hotel; the bed was small and pressed against a wall. The fridge in the room made a humming noise all night and was positioned right next to the bed. The shower and toilet seemed to be located where a closet once stood, and a fireplace remained embedded in the wall. Turning the key to the room was nearly impossible.

“Excellent stay and great value for money”

Real value for my money, very clean, and the staff were excellent.

“Adequate for one night.”

The location was excellent and the staff were friendly. Wallpaper was peeling from the walls, and while there were curtains, there was no net curtain, so getting dressed required leaving the lights on and the curtains closed. I understand that the property is being refurbished.

“No comment”

I never got to stay…. I moved the booking, then on the day I message to check my reservation and I was told it had been cancelled. Without any refund
