The rooms were clean and well‑curated, with a view of the Bard fort. The restaurant was good and the wine bar interesting; a nice spa rounded out the services. The welcome was lovely – highly recommended.

Typical Italian, very friendly staff, good food.

The location is close to the highway and in a charming little village. Sound insulation was poor – even with windows and shutters shut, the bar below kept us up. The Turkish bath/hamam wasn’t working, yet we still paid the full price.

The hotel is near the Bard fortress, in a very old building partially carved into the mountain. From the outside it looks like a boutique hotel, but once inside you feel the atmosphere and see why the rating is so high. The room was lovely and comfortable; we were given a second‑floor room but didn’t use it. The shower was pleasant and the soaps had a unique wooden scent. The surprise was the restaurant, serving dinner and the next day a breakfast buffet. Dinner was perfect, beautifully presented and delicious. The next day’s breakfast came on a carefully arranged platter at each table and was again tasty. In the morning we also visited the observation balcony with a nice view; in winter there’s a jacuzzi. We didn’t use the spa, which costs 20 euros per guest and seems unnecessary. Service was excellent – highly recommended. The hotel has no parking. You can park near the entrance, but then you need to look for a spot in the village or across the river, crossing the bridge.
