The place is close to Kings Dominion and lets pets in, which was great. The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. Breakfast, however, was disappointing; I ended up eating only cereal and yogurt. The elevator was broken for most of our stay, but since we were on the second floor it wasn’t a huge hassle, just a bit inconvenient.

Aside from being close to an amusement park, I can’t find any positives; my biggest disappointment after staying at about 15 hotels in the US and Canada in one month, this place completely ignored IHG standards, the general manager was unreachable and didn’t answer emails, the elevator didn’t work, breakfast was woefully inadequate, the hallway carpets were dirty and smelled, they offered no compensation when we asked, some ground‑floor rooms had no doors, just plastic film, the hotel only looks decent from the outside and I wouldn’t even send an enemy there.

The room was perfect and had plenty of space. Many people complained that the thermostat didn’t work and they were freezing, but it does work if you know how to use it. The bed was very comfortable, and we skipped breakfast. The TV in our room was broken; it seemed like a cord behind it had been cut, which upset my boys.
