“Von den genannten Widrigkeiten abgesehen, war es eine sehr schöne Zeit in Berlin.”
Our room, like the rest of the hotel, was very clean, the size was fine, and the facilities were adequate. The location was great—Potsdamer Platz, Brandenburger Tor, Gendarmenmarkt all within walking distance. What stood out was the friendliness of the staff; everyone, from the receptionist to the bartender, was exceptionally nice and helpful at all times. After booking, I asked the hotel about parking, and they said yes, so I tried to reserve a spot immediately, but was told it wasn’t possible; parking would be assigned upon arrival if desired. When we checked in I asked again for a parking spot, and was told the spaces were all taken, which was to be expected since there are only six spots. I then found a parking garage about 500 m away. Unfortunately, the restaurant mentioned in the description is only a breakfast room. Another issue was breakfast—or rather the breakfast room. During four nights we had to wait twice for a table to become available, even though we used the quiet breakfast hours the hotel claimed.
