“Best views around and lovely ocean front rooms.”

Our room faced the ocean and we actually saw whales from the balcony, even better with the binoculars we brought. The room was very comfortable and the spot was great for us—quiet enough but still lively. The surf club across the road served meals and drinks, the foreshore swimming pool was handy, and the foreshore walk was lovely. There were plenty of other attractions a short drive away. On our second visit we liked it even more. The only thing that could improve is a better pool.

“Our studio room was good for a short getaway in Caloundra.”

The positives were a clean room, a comfy bed, a nice view, a generous surprise hamper, undercover parking, proximity to food, and lovely walks. The negatives were the heavy construction nearby, which was sometimes noisy, and the fact that Kings Beach itself is under major works (not the hotel’s fault, but we wish we’d known). The room felt a bit dated, and the shower over the big triangle spa bath was slippery and uneven to stand on, which we didn’t like. The pool area will improve once the upgrade is finished.

The view was good and the weather was favorable, though the welcome pack could have been better.
