The location and the houseboat themselves were lovely, but the linens and towels were missing and the host never answered any of my messages for three days despite promising to be reachable at any time.

We loved the spot right on the water and the roof terrace with its great view, and there was a SUP available (though it came without a paddle) and plenty of parking at the motorhome area, yet the place was filthy with cobwebs and dirty windows, the terrace boards and railings looked neglected, hot water ran out after two consecutive showers, the kitchen was barely equipped—no scissors, only a tiny spoon, lots of plastic dishes, no dishcloths or detergent—while the bathroom offered just half a roll of toilet paper, no soap, no shelves or towel hooks, the terrace furniture was broken and lacked a table, the bedroom was cramped, the mezzanine wasted space and posed a head‑bump hazard, the shutters and insect screens were incomplete or broken, the fire alarm sat in a bowl without batteries and a leak sensor was either broken or dismantled with water damage on the walls, and the landlord never replied to any of my inquiries.

The roof terrace with cozy seating is ideal for stargazing, and the lakeside setting is relaxed. The living room feels comfortable and the kitchen is adequately equipped, complete with fly screens and plenty of towels. However, the ceilings are too short for taller guests, and there is no soap dispenser, dish‑washing tablets, extra toilet paper, or extra trash bags. A SUP is available, but we couldn’t find a paddle. The fly screen on the door is partially damaged.

“Wir waren sehr zufrieden und können das Boot jederzeit weiterempfehlen”

The weather was bad, but we still managed to sit outside in thick jackets and even saw the sun once. The upper deck at Fritz is truly beautiful; I was initially confused by the many wind turbines, but they’re common in East Frisia. We really liked the well‑furnished kitchen, even though we only cooked scrambled eggs with shrimp. There was enough dishware for the three days, so we could run the dishwasher once at the end. It’s a strange place to vacation, but I imagine it would be wonderful in good weather. The view from the armchair and couch over the water is unbeatable. We had trouble with the TV because we couldn’t adjust the volume, but by the end of the day it didn’t matter since watching the lake was far better. Both bedrooms didn’t have TVs, but we weren’t watching TV on vacation. The windows could have been cleaner, and the trash bag could have been placed in the large bin from the start. We thought there were no trash bags, so we tossed waste into the bin without a bag until we noticed they were there.
