I didn’t like anything about the place. The smell was awful, everything was in disrepair, I couldn’t control the air‑conditioner, there was no water heater, the odor was terrible, and I could hear mice squeaking – I would not recommend it.

The bathroom had probably never been cleaned.

There was an intense mold odor, everything was filthy and rotten, the bathroom was dreadful, and I ended up sleeping in my sleeping bag.

Walking to the Monas, nearby museums, mosques and churches was easy, so the location worked well for me. When the place I had booked closed down, I lost my accommodation around 11 pm, but I managed to book a room right away and got a place to stay. The air‑conditioner had no remote; it kicked on after about ten minutes, so I assume it’s centrally controlled. The bed sheets were dirty, so a sleeping liner would be useful. Two people paid Rp240,000, which is very cheap, so the low price explains the lack of quality. It was New Year’s Eve on 12/30, and among the nearby lodgings within walking distance of the countdown, this was the cheapest, while the backpacker district was fully booked. Hot water didn’t work, and after I told the staff they said they would check later but never returned.
