I liked the walkability of the location and the attractive rooms, but we arrived at 2:30 am—before the stated 4:00 pm check‑in—so instead of letting us check in and return for a key, they threatened to charge an extra $25 on top of the nearly $1500 standard room for two nights, which really made me bristle.

The location was perfect, the rooms lovely, the bed comfortable, and the bathrooms beautiful, but I would have preferred a bathtub and there was no hand soap—only a wrapped face bar of soap.

The location was great and the suite was spacious, yet the shower pressure was very poor and hot water took a long time; I also wanted proper glasses and mugs instead of disposables, and the pull‑out sofa mattress was uncomfortable to sleep on.

The location, the spacious room offer, and the originality of the indoor pool were positives, but the hotel forced me to pre‑authorise an amount far exceeding the room price I had already fully paid; Carlos Padilla at the desk insisted the hotel did not charge through booking and that the room price I quoted was wrong, despite the documents I showed him. At checkout the invoice reflected the quoted price and the booking payment was applied, yet the pre‑authorisation remains debited on my account. No response came after emailing Carlos Padilla, making the situation totally unacceptable.

The place was spotless and the staff were super friendly and helpful, and I really enjoyed the staircase and the old‑school vibe with a modern touch. The only downside was having to pay $30 extra for parking, which feels a bit pricey for a day when everything is à la carte.
