The place sits in a quiet, lovely spot, feels modern, has a solid gym, everyone is very friendly, and the breakfast is great. The pool, however, is pretty small.

We checked in after midnight, exhausted and jet‑lagged, and were shocked to see a big cockroach crawling over us in bed. The guest helpline and housekeeping were unhelpful, showing no urgency or empathy. Joseph at the front office was more supportive, but we still wanted to take the issue to Intercontinental international management and even consider filing a complaint with the Singapore Tourism Board. When Front Office Manager Vin Raveendran stepped in, he apologized profusely, personally ensured a quick cleanup, moved us to a larger, better room for the night, and arranged daily health checks so the rest of our stay was excellent. He truly represented what we expect from Intercontinental.

The rooms were small yet cozy, with the best hotel beds I’ve ever slept in and a very extensive breakfast buffet; however, despite the staff being attentive and genuinely friendly, the sheer number of mistakes made it impossible to overlook even in a 5‑star property—during our two separate stays (four guests in two double rooms) we only booked the second night at the front desk, which completely fell apart because they gave us just one double room, and had we not noticed immediately we would have faced a nasty surprise on arrival since the hotel was fully booked, and no apology was offered at all.
