The setting, the staff’s friendliness, and how they treat you are a delight. They prepare amazing breakfasts—keep it up! The only small issue is that the main door is a bit hard to open.

El entorno, la casa, la limpieza, las vistas. Destacaría la libertad que dejan amlos clientes para usar las instalaciones. Eso hace que te sientas como en casa. El restaurante es de 10 y el personal es de lo más eficiente y educado

A very nice old stone house in an essentially quiet location. My room was very large, bright, and cozy. The bed was very comfortable. The view of the mountains and fields was wonderful. The bathroom was large and had a bathtub, though showering was also easy. The whole house was tastefully furnished; all rooms were named after fish and marked with beautiful ceramics. I had room Lamprea, which means Nine Eye. The breakfast included in the room price was served in a lovely, bright, glazed breakfast room and varied each morning. I liked that a lot. Regional products, homemade jam, and cakes were offered, as well as fresh scrambled eggs with ham, yogurt, and honey. The breakfast definitely deserves high praise. After my hike on the Camino Norte I could rest very well here and slept soundly in the comfortable bed. The small town San Tirso de Abres is very manageable. Unfortunately all restaurants and bars were either closed or had nothing to eat. The only option was the small Tante‑Emma shop, 10 minutes on foot. There you can buy fresh bread and all the essentials. The nearby restaurant Amaido was closed on Friday and Saturday. Because of the extreme heat during my stay, I couldn’t do much there either. From San Tirso de Abres you can hike the beautiful Ruta del Ferrocarril, an old railway line with several tunnels, through the green mountains of Asturias to the Galician side. That’s about 13 km. I ran that route the next day on my way to Santiago. I felt very comfortable at Casona Amaido. The mosquitoes are a real problem—old original windows with interior shutters don’t allow classic mosquito protection. The heat was so intense that you had to ventilate in the evening, and then the mosquitoes were already plentiful. Perhaps mosquito nets over the beds would help.

We arrived late and the owner kindly suggested we dine there because nothing nearby was open; she was very friendly and attentive. Everything else was perfect.
