“Excellent endroit où on se sent très bien”
Breakfast was outstanding, dinner was excellent, and both the staff and the chef were very attentive; the surroundings were pleasant and Drakensberg Royal Natal was just an hour’s drive away, though I missed having any contact with the owners to learn about their farming life and get advice.
“Vakantie met gezin”
The houses are spacious, the food is good, and the dogs and cats on the property were a real hit with the kids. It’s nice that there are electric blankets, because it gets really cold at night in winter. The location is a bit remote, with an unpaved road leading to it, and there are few restaurants nearby.
“Heerlijk eten en een mooie locatie”
The food was very good and the ladies cooked wonderfully. The location is a bit remote, but it was also beautiful. It was a pity we had bad weather, because otherwise it always looks different.
“This was a second visit for some of the party. We would all certainly return!”
We were delayed at the Lesotho border, but the pre‑booked meal was ready when we finally arrived, and the manageress helped us settle in right away. Dining happens in a spacious communal room with an open fire, and next to it a small bar lets you serve yourself drinks and record the order in a log book. Breakfast was freshly cooked and served quickly after ordering, while the evening meals were customized to our preferences. The farm is very tranquil, and the lodges are well spaced, giving a sense of privacy. Both lodges were warm, beautifully furnished, with well‑stocked kitchens and comfortable beds, making self‑catering a breeze. There is a swimming pool (too cold that time of year) and a children’s playground, plus plenty of space for kids to roam. It would be nice to have a washing machine in the larger 3‑bedroom lodges, though the paid laundry service is appreciated.
“Wonderful and comfy with some blemeshes overall very good”
The staff were excellent, especially Delice (hope I spelled that correctly). They responded immediately to any issues. Breakfast was good and dinner very good, almost like having dinner with family. The rental was super clean and spacious, with comfy beds, and we’re definitely looking forward to returning. There were no washcloths, and towels weren’t exchanged when the rental was cleaned. It’s far from the main road (about 5‑6 km), and when it rained we got stuck twice in the mud, so a 4×4 is strongly recommended in winter.
