“Ein gebuchtes Missverständnis”
The location was very good. The breakfast was excellent, with good coffee, fresh fruit for yogurt and muesli, and a nicely decorated dining room. The hostess was friendly. Apparently no one was there when we – two motorcyclists – arrived, so we waited outside for two hours. Other guests who came later called the owner, who then informed her son, who suddenly appeared. He did not respond to our knocking or the dogs barking. He led us to a room that had a French double bed. According to the booking there should have been two beds and air‑conditioning. The son told us that the room we had booked had been given to other guests and could not be changed. The solution offered was to put a mattress on the floor. There was no air‑conditioning. It was not fun at over 30 °C. The night was not particularly restful. No compensation was offered, as the full amount had already been paid in advance. Unfortunately, we had to cancel another hotel in Sault because in the Chambre Durfort we had been offered two beds and air‑conditioning and the reviews were fabulous for the expectations.
The setting was lovely and calm. The welcome was very good, super friendly and pleasant. I would recommend it.
