The location was perfect in Laxman Jhula, Rishikesh, right on the banks of the Ganga, letting you “watch the river flow” like Bob Dylan sang. The terrace restaurant was wonderful and reasonably priced, with a view of the Ganga and friendly, smiling staff. It’s only a short 5‑minute walk to the center of Laxman Jhula, where you’ll find restaurants, shops, cafés, and yoga classes. I had to leave after just four days.

The views were exceptional and the rooms were spacious. In the king studio, there were ants and insects, the room locks didn’t work, the bathtub/jacuzzi kept turning on and off by itself, and the restaurant staff were the worst; for a glass of water they said it would take 30 minutes, the service was very slow, the waiters knew little, and there was no proper coordination with the kitchen staff and chefs.

The location and food were good, but the AC leaked continuously, leaving water on the floor, and the TV had to be removed from the room to avoid a short circuit. There was also a constant foul smell from the washroom, and we had to have the air freshener sprayed by hotel staff two or three times a day.

The spot is great and the view is awesome, plus the staff are good, but the mattress was uncomfortable and the room felt too small.
