It was pleasant

The room was lovely, spacious, and came fully equipped with tea, coffee, water, biscuits, towels, and toiletries—no need to bring anything except clothes. Breakfast was basic but good and already included in the price. The bar hosted karaoke on Saturday nights, making it loud, but it ended at a reasonable time so it didn’t really affect my stay. Food wasn’t served that night, yet the staff offered solid suggestions for nearby eateries.

The room was clean and the bed comfortable. We were the only guests on the premises overnight, and the next morning we discovered we’d been locked to the rear of the pub all night, having to wait to be let out. No one explained this or told us what to do in an emergency. Breakfast was offered in a half‑hour slot with no choice of what to eat; only premixed coffee sachets were available in the room, no tea, which was a problem for one guest who can’t drink coffee and another who is diabetic and can’t have sugar. Parking was not good.
