Location. The staff. Great breakfast. Lovely room furnishings. Noisy from the street and the room above. Our room only had a bath, no shower. My son’s room was painted dark blue, making the room even darker. The stairwell and landing were a bit scruffy.

I loved the place – it was so quaint, quiet, and right next to everything: restaurants, the train station, shops, bakeries. The breakfast was exceptional, the best I’ve had on my whole holiday. The stairs to the top floor were a bit tricky, but with help for our luggage everything worked out fine.

The hotel is very central to the town. The access to the room was tight, with step‑stairs and low headroom, so anyone tall would have to duck; this isn’t mentioned when you book.
