“Nie mehr wieder”
They seem to think this place is a modern design hotel, but it turns out to be a complete disaster. Starting with the positives: it’s centrally located and the beds are comfortable. That’s about it. Our room (the Juniorsuite 205) faced the courtyard. There was a makeshift staircase made of metal grating—probably the “second escape route”—that was lit with harsh neon all the time. On the ground floor of the courtyard was the outdoor dining area of Ombretta, so there were food smells and noise from both guests and staff. The room was neither cleaned nor tidied, let alone a towel change. I thought I might have missed something in the booking: no, the place is marketed as a hotel, not a boarding house. In the staircase a woman—probably a cleaner—asked if I needed anything. I asked for fresh bath towels, she said yes, but I never received them. I thought, no problem, and later in the afternoon I went to the reception, which supposedly is staffed hourly, but it wasn’t. I thought, no problem. I tried the tablet in the room for the 24‑hour live chat, but nobody responded. I called the service number listed, but no one answered. I’m also confused by the design choices: a bathtub in the room (which, I know, is considered the latest trend in some design hotels, at least 20 years ago) is useless because there’s no decent seating—just two odd chairs that look like they were once used for banquet seating.
