The building is a beautiful piece of history that feels very homey, and the room is spacious. A shared kitchen is available for use. It’s a short drive from everything in Otaru, and the surrounding neighborhood boasts many lovely houses and buildings. Checking in and out was straightforward. Because the building is old, sound travels easily, but all guests respected the quiet‑time policy at night, so we had no issues. If you’re on the second floor, the stairs are steep, so be careful with heavy luggage. The area can get quite dark at night; it’s not dangerous, but it may be harder to navigate without a car.
