The place was clean. I feel like I was scammed. When I made the booking, I was not informed about the additional R500 refundable deposit and R150 cleaning fee. I only received a WhatsApp message informing me about these charges after I had already booked, leaving me with little choice but to pay the additional amount. To my surprise, I was later told that I would not be getting my refundable deposit back because I had two visitors who did not even spend much time at the premises. The treatment I received was extremely disappointing. I honestly felt like I was in jail, surrounded by countless unreasonable rules that seemed designed to ensure that I would not get my deposit back. The place was also very cold, and we had to request additional blankets. There was no microwave available to warm up our food, which was inconvenient. I arrived at night and had to open and close three gates myself, with no one available to assist guests. I was told to keep the gates closed to prevent the deer from getting out, but I believe guests should still be properly assisted, especially when arriving at night. Overall, I am extremely disappointed with the owner and my entire experience at this establishment. The unexpected charges, excessive rules, and the withholding of my refundable deposit left me feeling misled and taken advantage of. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this establishment to anyone. Scammers.!!!!

The lodge was clean, well‑equipped, neat and tidy, and the owners were friendly. Morning tranquility, a calm atmosphere, and the chalet’s upkeep made it a perfect spot to reconnect with family or friends or host a private event without drama. We enjoyed the quiet away from everyday hustle, and the birds entertained us daily. Walking trails behind the Magalies Hills offered a breathtaking view of the mountains.

“perfect getaway for a family celebration.”

The location was very serene and relaxing, a perfect escape from the concrete jungle. Heidi was hospitable and accommodating, and the WIFI was exceptionally good.
