The location was lovely—central yet quiet, with plenty of shops nearby. I liked the breakfast times and the selection of cereals, yoghurt, fruit, and juices. The hot food could have been better; the first morning’s offerings were sparse and dry, and the second morning was slightly better but still improvable.

The leisure centre was excellent and the grounds were beautiful. The Abbey and its history added a nice atmosphere to the bar, and the bed was comfortable. However, Room 68 needed a makeover: the carpet required a professional shampoo, the chairs needed cleaning, and the bathroom around the bath area could use repainting. Bread rolls and cheese would have been nice additions to breakfast.

I loved my room, the staff and the area. Apparently a member of staff was very rude to a family member which she found very upsetting. I believe she was going to lodge a complaint
