The converted church turned accommodation was done so well; my husband and I stayed a couple of nights and the concept is a great idea. The high ceilings and large space let my husband run laps up and down the main area for exercise—haha. Two bedrooms, both with extremely comfortable mattresses, and we especially liked the mattress in the ground‑floor bedroom—it was SO comfortable. The bathrooms were also very large. Owner Mario was lovely and gave us all the basics, including a welcome hamper that was so nice. He even made sure the fire was going on arrival, which was welcome in the middle of winter. Overall, a lovely winter getaway in a peaceful location, and we found a random burger place called Eddys Garage down the road—a must‑visit for a juicy burger! We loved our stay and would definitely come back.

The converted church in a quiet rural area, close to towns like Maldon and Castlemaine, was warm and cozy with a fire burning. It was a great base to explore the Central Goldfields. Mario was a generous host who gave us some goodies to welcome us.
