“Super, characterful pub, great food and location”
Fantastic old building with heaps of character. Huge breakfast included. Brilliant staff. And enormous dinner portions too, if you choose to eat there in the evening. Great views from the pub. Loads of walks either directly from the door or a short drive away. Beautiful. I’ve stayed here 4 years in a row and eaten here many times over the last 20 years. The noisy hot water pipe! But luckily, it seemed to only be when the showers were running, so not a problem when sleeping.
The place was spotless, the staff were friendly, and the countryside views were fantastic.
The room and bathroom were spacious, the bedding and bed were very good, and the dinner was tasty and well presented, yet the breakfast was very limited with no fresh fruit or fresh yogurt, though the coffee was excellent.
“Fab place to stay, eat and drink”
The hotel was great, the staff were super friendly and helpful, the food was very good, and it always feels like a welcoming place to stay.
“Good overall location. Home cooked food delicious. In need of a bit of modernisation.”
The food was delicious, but the shower in the room needed attention.
