The service was immaculate; beautiful breakfast; amazing dinner; luxurious interior; bike hire; Bages village location; vineyard and wine tasting at Lynch-Bages. The gym almost has all the gear, but doesn’t quite… so could do with a little more love from a professional who knows how to bring it up to spec

The hotel was beautiful and cozy with a very tasteful interior. Breakfast was delicious, and the terraces overlooking the vineyards were especially lovely. The property had a very pleasant atmosphere, and its beautiful design was definitely its main highlight. Unfortunately, the overall experience did not live up to our expectations of a 5‑star hotel, especially in terms of service, hospitality and flexibility. The hotel is quite isolated, so having a car is essential. Very few places are within walking distance, and the closest alternative restaurant is not really worth considering. This means you have to drive everywhere, even for dinner, which is far from ideal after a whole day visiting wineries. What was particularly disappointing was the lack of flexibility regarding the hotel’s own restaurant. We contacted the hotel several times because we wanted to have dinner there, and we were willing to sit anywhere—on the terrace, in the lobby or in another less formal area. Nevertheless, we were simply told that it was not possible to accommodate us. The hotel appeared very quiet that evening, which made this especially frustrating. We would have appreciated at least some effort to find an alternative solution for guests staying at the hotel. We also tried to book the nearby winery recommended on the hotel’s website, but were unable to get a reservation and were simply told that there was no availability. Although the hotel did manage to secure a reservation for us at another winery, we were still disappointed that we could not enjoy some of the main experiences we had chosen this location for—the nearby wineries and the hotel’s own restaurant. The staff also felt quite cold and distant throughout our stay. We did not feel a genuine willingness to help or any particular warmth or care, including upon arrival, when the welcome felt formal rather than genuinely hospitable. Overall, the service did not reflect the level of hospitality we would expect from a 5‑star property. The spa facilities were also disappointing. The sauna is only switched on when you specifically ask for it, meaning it is cold until then and does not have sufficient time to heat up properly.

A luxury hotel on the edge of Pauillac, with superb facilities for relaxing—early October the pool was just right. Breakfast was everything you could wish for (except for obscure green vegetables!). Lovely building and setting, staff were welcoming and attentive. The only downside, due to me, was that I didn’t check the closure days of the restaurant. Guess I’ll just have to come back on the correct days 😊

A lovely hotel in a wonderful location with truly top-notch service. We celebrated my husband’s birthday during our stay, and the staff went above and beyond to make it special. They were incredibly accommodating and even helped arrange for the chef to make a chocolate birthday cake for him. Such a thoughtful touch and a wonderful experience!. Everything was wonderful
