“Disappointing experience for the price”
Koh Tao. Overall, this property was just average. Given the relatively high price per night, there are many other places in Koh Tao that offer a considerably better experience, better facilities, and much better customer service. There were several issues with the room that significantly affected our stay. The exterior bollard lights shine directly through the glass door panels at night, making the room unnecessarily bright and making it difficult to sleep. These may improve security but there is smarter ways to improve security while improving guest experience. The front door also has noticeable gaps, which allow mosquitoes to enter the room while you are sleeping. This could be fixed easily but it hasn't been fixed, why? The bathroom door was extremely difficult to open and appeared to be damaged or broken, which is not what you would expect from accommodation at this price. The basics seem to be hard for them to get right. I specifically asked the manager, Miss Tua, whether we could stay in a cabin closer to the beach because we wanted to be able to hear the waves. I was told that the property was fully booked. However, throughout our entire stay, we could clearly see that cabins closer to the water remained vacant. This was particularly disappointing and left us questioning why the manager, Miss Tua was lying. Unfortunately, the customer service from the manager was one of the biggest disappointments. Miss Tua was unhelpful, dismissive, and consistently unpleasant in her interactions with us. A manager should set the standard for customer service, but in this case, the opposite seemed to be true. Our departure was particularly telling. While we were collecting our bags and leaving, the manager simply remained seated at her computer. There was no goodbye, no acknowledgement, no "have a safe trip," and no attempt to wish us well. We said goodbye ourselves, and only then did she look up from the computer
