“Peaceful”
Everyone was so friendly.
The two nights we booked never became available, and we only learned about the mix‑up a day before we were due to arrive. The host finally messaged us about a “small problem” and said that, as a family of six, we could stay just one night instead of the two we had paid for, which was absurd because our trip hinged on a full‑day safari at nearby Yalapark. I pointed out that this was far from a minor issue, yet no alternative was offered and the only response was a complaint that we had cancelled a stay we never intended to book.
The owner was very welcoming and helpful, and he organized a great safari for us. He also took us on a walk around the lodge.
“Vi er blevet holdt i hånden under hele opholdet, vi har fået traditionelt mad og en rå Yala oplevelse. Vores vært tog os”
The man brings you right to eye level with nature and automatically slows your pace. It’s the closest you can get to living in a clay hut, but with a working toilet and bathroom. Pretty, clean, and an incredibly beautiful area.
We had a fantastic stay! From the very first moment we felt more than welcome; the owner was incredibly kind and we were treated like family. A highlight was the safari we did with the owner, where we even spotted a leopard! In the evenings we also did unique walks that we won’t soon forget. The food deserves a big shout‑out: it was delicious and there was plenty. This was a unique experience we will cherish for a long time. Absolutely recommended! The only downside is the lack of cooling; there are fans in the hut.
