“Efficient”
The spot was perfect for me—right next to U Penn—but the AC was way too cold, it was a bit noisy, and there wasn’t much light.

The spot is spot on for a city break, right next to a metro and bus stop, and you’ll find supermarkets and quick‑bite restaurants nearby. The room was spotless and huge, and the kitchenette had everything you’d need. The downside was the lack of an elevator, and the air conditioning in the hallways was cranked up so hard it felt icy, but otherwise I was happy.

The shower was filthy, with old soap left on the floor, and it wasn’t cleaned even after I asked.

Checking in was a breeze, and the room was bright, clean, and super comfy. A subway is just a few blocks away, and there are several decent restaurants in the area. After I left the room, the neighborhood was buzzing with police and a handful of teenagers running around; it wasn’t dangerous, just a bit unsettling. The officers seemed to be part of a routine patrol, so when I returned the area had settled down.

The coded door entry system worked, and the room was a decent size. However, there was no elevator, the shower drain was blocked, and there was no receptionist. I couldn’t access the hotel’s interior reception area until check‑in time, and when I tried to release my credit‑card deposit after check‑out they blocked it again because they hadn’t yet inspected for damages. Cleaning service was unavailable during my stay, and a paid room‑cleaning option was offered at an extra charge even though I was paying over $300 per night. I was charged for early access to the room an hour before it was actually ready.
