“Amazing vacation trip”
The city view was great, the bed felt comfortable, and the utilities were fine; the owner was welcoming, letting me check in early without charging extra and respecting my privacy.

The host was very enthusiastic, but my room on the third floor had no elevator so lugging luggage up was quite inconvenient, and the bathroom was cramped with a tiny shower space.

The owner‑manager was extremely kind and offered free water refills, which is rare in Vietnam and cuts down on plastic use; he also handed out free bananas. The deluxe double room had a stunning view of the river and mountains from the back, making the extra dollar worth it, though the road in front can be noisy. Coffee shops, a Win Mart, and local restaurants are all close by. Coordinating a bus from Quang Nghai and ferry times was tricky, but a minivan waiting at the port took me back for 50,000 VND. The public bus #3 seems to deviate from its official schedule, yet it’s conveniently nearby if you can find the correct times. Definitely the place to stay in Quang Nghai if you’re heading to Ly Son or have your own transport, as it’s a bit outside the city center. The bed is firm—common in Vietnam—but the thick comforter is nice, and the room is very clean. This is my second visit and I’ll return.

A very friendly older owner and manager greets you with a big smile. Paying extra for the deluxe room gives you a wonderful riverside view—quiet and peaceful, very clean, and the thick comforter is great. Local restaurants, a Win Mart, and a couple of cafés are nearby. The owner can arrange a 6 am or 10 am shared minivan to Sa Ky port for the ferry to Ly Son. The government #3 bus stop is only about 250 m away, but the 2026 official schedule seems off since the 7:45 bus never arrived; a local said it passed at 7 am. The 6 am shuttle could get you to the port for the 6:45 ferry, otherwise you’ll wait until 9:30 for the next one. If you take the 10 am shuttle you’ll need to wait until the 1:30 ferry. There’s a nice café/restaurant next to the ferry terminal to wait.

The owner is nice, but the house is noisy and the gate’s latch makes noise all night.
