The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was great. The old timber‑framed house has been kept in excellent condition and is well maintained.

The hotel is a very cozy, rustic place in old walls. The hosts and staff are very friendly, accommodating, almost family‑like, and the food is exceptionally good, including the lovingly prepared breakfast. A small highlight for me was the cellar vault for smokers, where you can also enjoy your beer or wine. The internet is sometimes not quite good.

We were on a car tour from the Ruhr area through Sauerland, Westerwald to the Mosel and back, and booked a two‑week‑ago stopover via Booking in a ‘Comfort‑double room’ at this hotel. The staff were very friendly, the room was shown and we were told that the restaurant would be closed on Wednesdays, which we were actually looking forward to. We were given cutlery to eat salads we bought from REWE on the narrow French balcony. Unfortunately, we only realized upon arrival that there was no other restaurant in the town on Wednesdays. We also didn’t know that we would have to sleep directly on a federal road with vehicles passing at high speed every second. The garbage truck came at 6 am, and at 7 am the church bells started playing the time. Additionally, the room had a TV, probably a 19″ from 2005, that no longer received ARD, and we couldn’t find Wi‑Fi. It was good that the owner gave us a quieter room for the World Cup semi‑final so we could watch the game. Breakfast was great, but we couldn’t evaluate the rest of the food due to lack of options. Overall, the price‑performance ratio fit our trip, but compared to other stays it was not as good.
