“Not good”
We travel all over the world and know the difference between budget and luxury stays. During our current trip around India, we’ve stayed in a range of hotels from high‑end resorts to cheaper options, and overall the experiences have been excellent. We booked Indian Adventures because the description and photos promised a relaxing, comfortable stay to unwind before our tiger safari. The price matched other quality accommodations we’d recently visited. Unfortunately, what we encountered upon arrival was far from what was advertised. In our view, the property is heavily misrepresented; the photos and descriptions barely resemble the actual condition. Instead of the welcoming retreat shown online, we found a run‑down, poorly maintained campsite that fell well below reasonable expectations. We couldn’t cancel and move elsewhere because we’d already driven about six hours by taxi to reach the site and had a tiger safari booked for the next day. Thus, we had little choice but to stay overnight, leaving at the earliest opportunity at 7:00 am on the second day. The location is extremely isolated, reached via a rough dirt road, with virtually no nearby facilities. Transport seemed to be controlled through the camp, with taxi fares significantly higher than elsewhere in India, and only return journeys were offered, making independent travel difficult. The following issues arose during our stay: no shop on site to buy water; the nearest restaurant was about 5 km away and only reachable by taxi; no drinking water was provided in the room; no toilet paper was supplied; towels were old, stained, and had to be replaced. The whole experience was disappointing.
