Kenji, the host, helps plan everything you want to see in Kyoto, while otherwise offering plenty of privacy; it feels almost like the house isn’t inhabited by other people, making it relaxing, quiet, and peaceful. You stay in a beautifully Japanese‑designed sleeping space on futons. For cool winter nights, a heated mat under the mattress and an air conditioner are provided. The Japanese‑style bathroom is shared with the host. It’s a different experience from the usual sterile hotels.
