“Great value, everything we needed and welcoming, friendly owners”
We were very happy with the 2a Boutique Rooms; the self‑check‑in was very easy, and the owners were welcoming, friendly, and helpful. They went out of their way to secure a parking space and welcomed me into the restaurant while I waited for my partner. The room was exactly what we needed—clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay again.
“Recommended place to stay”
The clean, modern room above the excellent Greek restaurant was well‑located for access to the Channel Tunnel (15 minutes). On‑site parking was useful, and the staff were outstanding—special thanks to Alex and Page for retrieving a lost sentimental item. We enjoyed our stay. The only minor gripe was that the duvet might have been a bit cooler for the warmer nights.
“An ok, clean room”
The room was clean and roomy with easy entry, but the mattress turned out not to be Tempur as promised, which let me down. I had to share a small fridge that wasn’t in my room, and the advertised welcome drink was nowhere to be found. There was also no bath mat, so stepping out of the tub was slippery.
“We stayed in the Burlesque room after having lunch in the restaurant. A great way to mark our wedding anniversary.”
An excellent, peaceful stay as always. No complaints.
The location was great for catching the shuttle the next morning, the rooms were nice and spacious, and the price was fair. However, we were woken around 4 am and then kept up by the burglar alarm at the adjacent solicitor’s office going off and on at irregular intervals. This was worsened by other guests leaving around 6 am, slamming doors behind them several times. We eventually gave up on sleeping and left the hotel around 7 am. This was the fourth time we stayed at Stay 2a, and the only time this has been an issue. I hope the manager talks to the solicitor about the unmonitored alarm and reminds guests not to slam doors behind them.
