“Great room in a unique building and location but breakfast arrangements need to be improved!”

The room was big and roomy with a decent bathroom, a comfy bed, and a huge balcony/terrace full of grape vines that looked really pretty and unique. The location was wonderful, right in the centre. Check‑in happens in the busy café/bar next door, which was fine. The room is up several flights of stairs, and the last set are very narrow – not a problem for us, but anyone with mobility issues should note that. On the first day we went down for breakfast in the café next door; it was great and tasty, with a coffee, a pastry choice, a juice choice, and eggs – served, not a buffet. The second day, a Sunday, we tried to get breakfast at 9 am (later than Saturday) and were told the café didn’t open until 10 am with no further explanation. Since we had to leave for the airport at 10 am, we missed the breakfast that was included with our room. Google said it opens at 8 am every day, so that was very annoying given our long journey ahead.

“Romantisch, aber....”

The room was playful with a gorgeous terrace, a very comfortable bed, and a great location. It was close to the cathedral and the opera house, in a lively neighbourhood with good walking distances. The downside was that the room opens onto an inner courtyard where the kitchen exit and the local’s waste bins are, so it was very loud all night – you can’t sleep with the window open! The breakfast was very sparse; it’s better to book without breakfast because there are plenty of nearby places that serve excellent breakfast.

We paid €1,013.75 for five nights and were disappointed that, for that price, the towels and sheets were only changed once (especially in the height of summer, with temperatures above 32 °C). We had to buy our own bin bags to replace the single one provided, as well as shampoo and other basics. There’s very little storage space and the wardrobe is tiny (I had the same one in my student dorm room). The host puts all the investment into the terrace, which is admittedly pleasant, but the furniture is anything but comfortable. In short, this place isn’t worth more than €100–120 a night. The one real highlight was the generous breakfast at Café Radetzky and the kindness of the staff there.

“An ideal location with outside space and a scrumptious breakfast.”

Once we found the property we were so impressed with not only the close proximity to the metro but the standard and how quiet the location was. We didn’t have instructions sent to us on how to find it. Usually we would have detailed instructions, but we had to rely on Google Maps.
