The staff were pleasant. I wish I had known the window faced a cement wall before arrival, so I could have asked for a different room; the room felt very cramped with that blank cement wall.

Directions are good. Can't miss it if you come off the train Parking is a schlepp. The room was "chic dark". i.e. even with all the lights on, it was dark. Bring a torch! The room was above a street with a 4 bus stop, and next door to a late bar (not mentioned in the specification). Woken regularly before, during, and after kick-out time The floorboards of the room above creaked The fan in the room was noisy

The room, the location, and especially the breakfast were great – one of the best we’ve ever had, with a wide selection and exceptional ingredients. Nothing else to add.

Reading Malmaison is in such a great location. Every time we stay, we have a good experience and always manage to get a quiet room. The bathrooms are too dark.

They saved me when Heathrow shut down because of air‑traffic control incompetence. The hotel is just across the road from the Elizabeth Line terminus, and the restaurant stays open late by English standards.
