The staff are very friendly, particularly Beryl, who does a good job. The location is a bit out of the way, and at night you should take a taxi because the place sits on a small dark road. The room I booked was big and nice, but only the air‑conditioning works well because the closed window balcony makes it very warm inside.

Oliver and the staff were extremely welcoming and answered every request quickly. The breakfasts were made to order and gave us a great taste of typical Kenyan breakfasts. This is a good budget option in Kisumu, away from the noisy town center. I was surprised at how small the garden was, given the name of the location; however, it was well cared for and had beautiful plants to look at. We would have liked better quality fixtures: the bathroom door didn’t shut, the toilet was cracked, and the shower wasn’t always warm.

The room was large with a TV seating area and a spacious bathroom. The bed was very comfortable. I chose the balcony room, which was also large with windows all the way around. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of choices. It’s within walking distance of Impala Sanctuary and Lake Victoria. Ants were on the balcony, but that’s acceptable given the location.
