“Nice to be by the lake but too far out of Dali and the accommodation was highly priced for what it was”
The staff were genuinely friendly and went out of their way to help us, and the lake view from our room was a real highlight. Unfortunately, the spot is pretty out of the way for getting to the other Dali sights, and without a Chinese ID we couldn’t rent a car or find any DiDi scooters, so we felt stuck. The room didn’t match the pictures and cost about twice what you’d pay in the old town for a fancier place, plus there was ongoing construction and very few dining options nearby.
