The location in De Hoop reserve is exceptional, right in nature among animals and very peaceful. The cottage is well equipped and functional. The barbecue equipment is basic.

The remoteness and originality, plus the traditional restaurant with decent food, are great. The only downside is other drivers not respecting the animals and speed limits.

“Excellent first night stay enroute to Garden Route from Cape Town with giant dunes and great food.”

I loved the rural, quiet scenery with massive dunes, the river outlook, excellent food, great service, and the family of Mountain Zebras (and Ostriches) near our room. The restaurant menu was exceptional.
