“Excellent place to start your epic Alta Via del Sale MTB trip”

I stayed here just before heading out on the Alta Via del Sale mountain bike trail, and the location was spot on. I rode the 7 km stretch from Limone station to Riserva Bianca at Panice Soprana to save time. The buffet dinner had everything I needed to prep for the 110 km rocky ride to the coast the next day. Breakfast began at 7 am, letting me hit the multi‑hairpin climbs to Chalet Le Marmotte at 1900 m by 7:45, grab cappuccino and cake, then be the first biker on the off‑road track at 9 am. The clouds still clung to the mountains that morning, creating a spectacular ride. The climbs were occasionally tough but manageable; the descent was slower than 20 km/h because of the rocky surface, especially near Tanarello pass. Starting early at Riserva Bianca let me finish the trip before sunset in late summer.

“Zweckmässig. Personal gelangweilt. Sonst gut.”

Breakfast was generous. For us motorcycle riders it was very convenient. We had three Enduros, which are narrow off‑road bikes that would have fit in a parking space, but we still had to pay the same price for the parking garage as a car. The staff did their job, but without warmth—just a job. Nothing more. Too bad.

Fantastic structure with an amazing view. Modern, clean, efficient. Too bad we only stayed one night. The breakfast was fantastic. No complaints.
