“Wonderful stay in quirky historic lodge”
The historic room was stunning, complete with a comfortable canopy bed, and the grounds and facilities were lovely; breakfast and dinner were good, and it was an easy walk to restaurants and a supermarket. However, turning out of the driveway onto the main street can be tricky, and the front wall is under reconstruction, so daytime noise is unavoidable.
Breakfast was very nice and the bar was pleasant, but the room was farther from the main building than expected, forcing a walk along a main road with scaffolding and no footpath; there was no Wi‑Fi in the room and the shower was not very good.
The hotel and its surroundings were beautiful, yet everything felt a bit old and the TV was very small.
“The staff were very helpful and very friendly”
We loved the building’s character and the beautiful garden.
“Horrific and I want a refund.”
The room was horrendous, with a nest of ladybirds and an awful smell; I even lost an earring under the bed, which was disgusting. I would not recommend paying £150 for a night in such a hell hole.
