“Als große Fans von TSH waren wir diesmal leider von der Hygiene und vom Service enttäuscht.”
The location is very central and public transport is quick to reach; Alexanderplatz is a short walk away. The concept of TSH is inspiring, but the execution needs improvement in several places. We chose a longer stay this time and were really looking forward to it. Upon arrival, it became clear that some aspects needed work. From day one, the room was not clean. Hair clumps from previous guests were left in the shower and not properly disposed of; some seams were black (possible mold). The carpet had multiple stains, as did some furniture. Damp spots were visible on the ceiling (also mold?). The dishes and cutlery in the kitchenette were very dirty and basically unusable. Only two bottles of shampoo (no shower gel) were provided, and one was nearly empty. When we contacted service to clarify a few questions and point out the above issues, we received a terse reply telling us to go to reception instead of using the booking communication tool. We expected more empathy, helpfulness and hospitality. The ground‑floor work areas are nice for a pleasant working environment, but the “Quiet Working Room” was anything but quiet because TSH staff were chatting and exchanging ideas. That’s legitimate, but it contradicts the idea of a silent workspace. Quiet work was therefore difficult. If this arrangement continues, more call boxes or similar should be considered. During our roughly one‑week stay, we heard three fire alarms at different times of day. Each time everyone had to leave the building, even though nothing serious seemed to happen.
