The calm was appreciated. There was no air conditioning, no windows that opened on a swing‑batten, and no bars on the windows, so you couldn’t sleep with the window open safely. It was a nightmare in summer (there was a fan to compensate 🤣).

The quality of service, the attention and the friendliness of the staff were above the standards. The restaurant was of great quality. The lighting in the room was a bit insufficient.

The building and grounds were lovely and very dog friendly. I have stayed here many times but this time was not the best. The beef for dinner was very chewy, the dog liked it though!!, the local cheese had no taste, there was no shower gel in the bathroom and the shower over the bath was odd, and I’m pretty sure we were not given a deluxe room.

The location is fantastic, the staff are amazing, the dinner was lovely, and it’s a great place to take our dogs while traveling. The turret shower room was a lovely feature but in need of some TLC.
