Soy Local Guatape Campestre

The facilities are very pleasant, but the staff could be more attentive.

We loved Hotel Soy Local in Guatapé! Spotlessly clean, private, with beautiful facilities and a very complete restaurant—10/10, everything fresh. The waiter was an excellent person. What really stood out was Mauricio in the lobby; it was my son's birthday and without us asking, he made a dessert with ice cream. My son was thrilled—those gestures are priceless. Service was 10, we felt at home. We’ll return!

“Muy buena estancia”

The peace of the place was exactly what I wanted; it’s close to several tourist spots so you can move around quickly. The mattresses are very soft, so you end up sinking into the bed.

The rooms were generally clean and functional, but the first thing that hit us was a pest control company arriving at the hotel and taking all the room keys—except a few, probably ours—making check‑in feel very unsettling. The welcome was lukewarm, with little effort to communicate despite our limited Spanish. Worse, the photos were misleading: the terrace and sunbathing area were unusable because of work we weren't told about, outdoor furniture was damaged, rooms were poorly sound‑proofed, and the bedding was uncomfortable. Breakfast was disappointing, especially the instant coffee in a neglected room. We chose this hotel because it was far from Guatapé (15–20 min by tuk‑tuk or taxi) to enjoy the quiet, scenery, and facilities, but we found none of those benefits and ended up spending our time in Guatapé instead. In short, many reasons to skip it.

“No lo recomiendo, roban”

Someone broke into our room and we suspect it was the staff. Only two rooms were occupied and they clearly went to the occupied one. Security was minimal, no cameras on the floors with rooms and cheap locks. The shower dripped. The handling of the situation was very limited.
