The breakfast buffet offered a decent variety and was quite good, with the hot soup noodle dish changing daily; the hotel is a short walk from Da‑Ye Takashimaya, the Penang market and Japan Street, and the staff were extremely friendly, though we could hear construction noise from the next door unit in the afternoons.

The breakfast was surprisingly tasty, given how basic it was, and the location of the hotel was perfect. The staff were super friendly and helpful, which made a big difference. However, the hotel had some major flaws - the soundproofing was non-existent, the shower temperature was all over the place, and there was this weird smell in the room that I couldn't shake off.

I was really impressed with the hotel's staff - from the moment I walked in the door to checking out, they were all super friendly and helpful. The rooms were a nice size and spotlessly clean, which was a big plus. However, the hotel's location was a bit of a letdown - it was a bit of a trek to get to the city centre and there wasn't much going on in the surrounding area. Still, the staff made up for it with their great service.
