“Loved it!”

I loved the location in the mountains and forest of Umbra—stunning and a welcome break from the heat. Local walks are available, and towns and the coast are not too far by car—a beautiful drive. The staff were very friendly; between my broken Italian and their broken English we managed. I liked that they weren’t fluent in English—it gave me a chance to practice Italian! It was a quiet, small place, not overrun by tourists, and it really felt like we were invited into their home. The only drawback was that there was no fan in the room; that would have made a big difference to the comfort.

“Soggiorno breve ma intenso”

The spot is amazing—Cantoniera sits right in the middle of the Umbra Forest, halfway between Vico and Monte Sant’Angelo, and you can reach the little lake with its main trails in just 5 minutes. The family run management is super welcoming and kind, giving off a warm, calm vibe that’s perfect for recharging in nature. The rooms are spacious, spotless, cozy, and have been renovated down to the last detail, everything feels brand new. The food is excellent; we had breakfast and dinner, all dishes were delicious, authentic local fare cooked with love. The owner is a forest expert who arranges various hikes on request. Prices are very fair, and I definitely hope to come back soon and recommend it without hesitation!

“Perfetto”

The location is right in the center of the Umbra forest, the staff are friendly and welcoming, the room is nice, and the breakfast and food are great. This is the second time we’re returning.

“Foresta Umbra”

The facility is welcoming, clean, and the owners are very, very nice and kind. Perhaps there could be a bit more variety at breakfast.
