“Séjour en demie teinte”
The room was well insulated and the bedding was good, but there was a broken shelf in the wardrobe. My arrival was very complicated; they couldn’t find my reservation and the hotel was full, which was a very unpleasant experience. A solution was eventually found, but the front‑desk staff did not check the room before handing it to me, which should be mandatory in hospitality to ensure everything is fine.
The owner and his team were extremely welcoming and helpful.
“Staff very friendly and helpful, breakfast buffet nice and fresh, good value for aud dollars, train station at your door”
Crossing the street from Gare Saint Jean made hopping onto the tram to Sarlat a breeze; I dropped my bags at lunch, caught the tram right outside the station, and enjoyed a great meal at Petit des Commerc before wandering Bordeaux and ending with dinner, then a quick tram back to Hotel Rosa. The only snag was a broken toilet seat that I only noticed after returning from the city centre, and it was late.
Great location near the station, but it felt more like rooms above a bar than a proper hotel. The evening was noisy until late, breakfast was passable, and there was no lift.
A small, privately run hotel with very attentive staff, a secure spot for my bike in the courtyard, and a location right by the train station with tram access straight to the centre.
