The Clarion staff were fantastic, and we could check in early; the room felt a bit dated but was very clean and comfortable, had everything we needed, and the water pressure was great. After a late return from a hospital appointment, the kitchen was closing in 15 minutes, yet they kindly prepared takeaway food for us that was delicious. The breakfast staff also went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed.

The front desk staff were very friendly and accommodating, but the carpets looked old and the shower was tiny.

It is centrally located to many attractions in the City, and the staff were extremely accommodating—especially Elvie. We stayed two nights there before heading to Cairns for five days. When we returned for a second stay, Elvie greeted me by name without having to look at a computer screen and helped us change our room type even though the hotel was completely full; that customer service made the difference. No negatives.

We liked the central location with easy access to trains and trams; we walk to most places and the Clarion Suites are well situated. However, we asked for the extra bed to be made up and it wasn’t; you even sent us an email asking for the sleeping configuration and failed to follow up. The fold‑out lounge was VERY uncomfortable and needs updating, there were no sheets in the room, and the televisions were very outdated and could use an upgrade.
