“It’s just a hotel which was built as a castle you couldn’t really walk around”
The bedrooms were very grand, but the staff were less than satisfactory.

Fantastic experience sleeping in a castle—once in a lifetime. Very clean and comfortable. Food was slightly overpriced in my view.

Style and charm, but bar prices are high and there are no real ales—just a few pints, so it ends up expensive.

We booked the place for a wedding and wanted to avoid taxis, so we chose this spot over a nearby village. We stayed in 'the tower' in a tiny, dated, dark room full of old furniture, and the bathroom felt like it was from the 90s with a leaking shower and a mouldy curtain. The room was stuffy, but the bed was comfortable enough. The staff were friendly and breakfast was good, though the room was overpriced for what it offered.
